Good news! Due to popular demand, we have extra tickets available for the Russian Tea Ceremony at Hazendal on Wednesday 5 October and Thursday 6 October. This High Tea is unlike any other! Experience the essence of Russian culture with the Russian tea and food. Follow the Tea Ceremony with a complimentary art walkabout the historic estate. Visit the specially curated quilt exhibition with quilts from Eastern European, Slavic and Central Asian regions. Tickets cost R335 including bus transport and are available until 26 September. Click here to view brochure.

We have finalised the Festival venue layout.  Have a look where your workshops and vendors are located and start planning your visit.

Waiting list

We have started  a waiting list for fully booked workshops.  If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please email ghqg.secretary@gmail.com.  If space becomes available, you will be contacted by the Festival Registrar.  Wait-listed attendees are contacted in the order they have registered.  If there are enough people on the waitlist, we may be able to add additional workshop sessions, subject to the Teacher’s availability.

We regretfully have had to withdraw some events and workshops.  Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.  There is still limited time to book an alternative though.

Antique Quilts: Unfortunately, the Textile Museum will only open on weekdays from 09:00 to 12:00.  The Saturday exhibition has been cancelled.

Quilt and Wine Pairing:  The Restaurant at Bellevue has closed and we can no longer offer the Quilt and Wine Pairing.  We recommend the Hazendal Wine Estate’s wine tasting options should you wish to sample Cape wines. Pre-booking is essential and can be done directly with Hazendal at (https://www.hazendal.co.za/wine-lounge/).  There are cheese and wine platters available or a light meal at the Babushka Deli.  All tastings and food will be for your own account.  The quilt exhibition is free.  Free bus transport to Hazendal will be available to make the 11:00 wine tasting.
