Festival 2011              2011 Logo

The next Festival is planned for 2011 - and the Committee is on the ball to have an excellent festival catering for quilters and interested people in July.  This will be hosted at Bloemhof Girls' School in Stellenbosch, 45 minutes from Cape Town from 1 to 7 July.

Festival 2013   -     This will be held in Bloemfontein.

Festival 2015   -     Durban will have a turn.

Festival 2017   -     Then on to Port Elizabeth.

 

Previous Festivals

Cape Town and the Good Hope Quilters' Guild have been the hosts of three very successful Festivals.

In 1988 we had the first Festival, QUILT '88 - with an excellent exhibition and workshops in Pinelands.

1994 - Theme:  "Yesterday Today and Tomorrow", was held at the University of Cape Town, with teachers coming from USA, England and the local regions of SA.

2002 - Theme:  "Down to Earth", was held in Panorama in Cape Town and had an excellent exhibition, workshops and achievements.

 

Festival 2008

The National Quilt Festival ("Shosholoza") was held at the Alberton Civic Centre, East Rand from 8-14 September 2008. More details of this event may be found at the website www.quiltjoburg.co.za
