Teachers and Workshops

The Western Cape is home to many experienced quilt teachers.   Classes and workshops given range from beginners to the more advanced and include various methods and techniques of patchwork and quilting.

In a guild the sharing of knowledge is very important. In the Good Hope Quilters Guild we would like to encourage members to learn from each other but also to share their knowledge with other members.

TEACHERS' FORUM

The Teachers Forum was established in 2001 for teachers who are members of Good Hope Guild to network, support and encourage each other as well as nurture people who wish to start teaching.

We have regular Teachers' Days where we meet for groups discussions, demonstrations and talks and share our experiences.   Teaching skills, ethics, etiquette and copyright, etc are discussed.   Any matters pertaining to teaching can be brought to the forum.

Teachers News

If you have some information about a visiting teacher, or have some news about our local teachers, we encourage you provide this information so that we can share it.

We are currently asking teachers to register with us. We will soon have the information here of the classes being taught.

Pathways to the Stars
We have demonstrations before and during some meetings to inspire members to tackle more difficult techniques. Please make sure that you attend these demonstrations to gain some knowledge. The series Quilt: Pathways to the Stars was a project where “setting in” corners as well as 8 points in one spot were demonstrated.
